Our Mission

We provide a safe, welcoming day center where young adults can access resources tailored to their needs while building relationships with individuals and organizations committed to supporting them.

1 in 10 adults aged 18–25 will face some form of homelessness each year. “

Behind that number are real stories of young adults navigating life on their own, unsure where to turn for safety, stability, or hope.

The DROP (Dedicated Resources Opening Possibilities) is a safe, welcoming day center in Forsyth County for unaccompanied young adults ages 18–24 experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.

No one should face homelessness alone.

Our Beginning

Forsyth County needed a place just for young adults experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

The Drop began with a simple but urgent realization:

Forsyth County needed a place just for young adults experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity.

Under the umbrella of Forsyth County Community Connection (FCCC), The Drop was created through federal funding from HUD’s Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program (YHDP) to bridge that gap.

From day one, we’ve opened our doors with one guiding principle:

Meet every young adult exactly where they are — physically, emotionally, and mentally — not where society expects them to be.

Our Commitment:

Support without judgment.
Guidance without pressure.
Hope without condition.

At The Drop, we’re committed to creating an inclusive environment where every young adult feels seen, valued, and respected — regardless of race, identity, religion, or experience.

We empower young adults to:

  • Strengthen their confidence

  • Build essential life skills

  • Access safe and stable resources

  • Make informed decisions about their future

Are you a young adult facing housing insecurity?

Do you need help with food, clothes, a ride, or help connecting to community resources, you are not alone.

No judgment here; support every step of the way.

Whether you need a quiet place to recharge, assistance communicating with the landlord, or just a friendly face who truly listens, we’ve got your back.

A Collaborative Approach

We know lasting change takes community. That’s why The Drop partners with local nonprofits, agencies, and organizations to coordinate comprehensive care. Together, we ensure no young adult navigates homelessness alone. When our community collaborates, we create strong pathways to stability and belonging—one young adult at a time.

A Different Kind of Support

Every young adult’s journey looks different, and our approach reflects that. Some clients need a monthly check-in or help with job training. Others rely on ongoing case management and assistance navigating housing barriers. Whatever the need, we always tailor support to the individual, not the other way around.
